Help us better understand how drugs behave when they are injected into lung tumors in dogs.

STUDY GOALS

Current chemotherapy treatments involve a direct injection into the tumor. One important aspect of this process, however, is how the drug distributes itself after it enters the affected area. Following the surgical removal of a naturally occurring lung tumor, we aim to better evaluate how the fluid dynamics of the tumor and surrounding lung tissue are affected by different ways of giving these injections. We would like to use surgically removed lung tissue to better understand how drugs behave when they are injected into lung tumors in dogs, as well as humans, with lung tumors.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• Dog is scheduled to undergo complete lung lobectomy surgery for a presumed primary lung tumor

• Dog has no history of radiation with lung in the radiation field

• No chemotherapy within 21 days of surgery
