Originally from Northern California, Dr. Marisa Ciccozzi completed her veterinary training at the University of California, Davis, followed by an internship and residency at the University of Minnesota. She officially fulfilled all specialist requirements, including passing her board examination in 2025, ensuring she remains up to date with the latest cardiology research and clinical recommendations.

Dr. Ciccozzi is passionate about all aspects of cardiology, including the management of acquired heart diseases such as mitral valve disease, dilated cardiomyopathy, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, as well as complex arrhythmia management. She also has a strong interest in interventional cardiology, performing advanced procedures to diagnose and treat congenital heart conditions such as patent ductus arteriosus and pulmonic stenosis, along with pacemaker implantation for bradycardia cases.

Her favorite part of the job is caring for her patients and building lasting relationships with them and their families. Dr. Ciccozzi is thrilled to join the VSH North County team and looks forward to meeting clients and their pets.
